The European Commission has unveiled the Culture Compass for Europe, setting out a renewed vision to place culture at the heart of European policy-making and to harness its power in addressing global challenges.

In 2025, the China Shanghai International Arts Festival and its Performing Arts Fair (ChinaSPAF) celebrate 20 years of partnership with the European Festivals Association (EFA). This anniversary marks two decades of artistic dialogue, joint activities and annual visits to the festival in Shanghai with a delegation of EFA Members.

EFA has entered a mutual membership with the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC) at the beginning of 2025. EFA was officially welcomed as one of AAPPAC’s new members during the network’s annual conference.
