Revolutions - 19th MITO Settembre Musica

For the 19th edition of MITO Settembre Musica, the host cities Milano and Torino promise an explosion of culture and music exploration, proposing a music festival rich in history and geography: from Vivaldi and Bach to Shostakovich, Berio, Saunders and Moussa; from western traditions in sacred choral music to the musical heritage of the orient; from times of peace and war to the great migrations.

From 3 to 18 September 2025, the cities af Milano and Torino unite in the shared music festival MITO Settembre Musica, promoting and showcasing both the crème de la crème of the host cities’ own cultural expressions, and engaging with organisations beyond national borders.

Artistic director Giorgio Battistelli has chosen Revolutions as the main theme, to be interpreted in aesthetic, spiritual and scientific perspectives - and an invitation to break with entrenched listening habits and an opportunity to pry open new points of view.

Torino hosts also the 17th edition of MITO per la Città – Mito collateral programme aimed at engaging those who may not be able to attend the festival: the city itself, with its variety of spaces and urban landscapes, becomes a stage, allowing music to reach places not normally considered music venues.

The festival is structured on four theme-based sections, allowing the audience to create their musical itinerary:

A slew of symphonic concerts, chamber music, children’s performances, and multidisciplinary extravaganzas: 67 events that span eras and genres, featuring classic favourites and world premieres. The festival does not miss the opportunity to offer moments of reflection and discussion, also giving voice to young performers and very young audiences.
