I Suoni delle Dolomiti celebrates 30 years with a special contest
In 2025, our EFA Member I Suoni delle Dolomiti celebrates its 30th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, Trentino Marketing is launching a special contest in memory of Paolo Manfrini, the festival’s founder. Since 1995, this unique event has brought over 800 musicians to perform outdoors above 2,000 metres, amidst the pristine peaks of the Dolomites.
The I Suoni delle Dolomiti Festival
I Suoni delle Dolomiti is an open-air music festival set in the Trentino Dolomites, an alpine region in the north-east of Italy. The festival was conceived with the goal of capturing and conveying the spirit of these enchanting mountains while paying homage to the wonder the Dolomites can offer. The concerts take place amidst rocky crags, alpine pastures, and mountain lakes in a delicate blend of culture and nature. The festival is unique and irreproducible: a shared journey between artists and the public in the scenic setting of the High Lands.
The Music Groups Contest
The contest, offering musical groups the chance to participate in the 2025 festival edition, is open to ensembles of all musical genres, consisting of two to six musicians. All participants must be adults and no older than 35 years as of 31 December 2024. Groups are required to present performances suitable for outdoor settings at high altitudes, reflecting the festival’s values as outlined in its Manifesto. Instruments must be acoustic and easily portable. The contest’s artistic coordination is entrusted to Maestro Mario Brunello, the festival’s artistic director.
Applications must be submitted by 28 March 2025.
