EFA involved in the Horizon Europe project "EXCENTRIC"
EXCENTRIC aims to drive the digital transition for sustainable and responsible growth in the European Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries, particularly in live music, festivals, theatre, and museums.
We’re excited to announce the launch of EXCENTRIC, the new Horizon Europe project in which the European Festivals Association (EFA) is involved and funded by the EU, begins in February 2025! The kick off meeting took place on 17 and 18 February in Rotterdam with all partners.
EXCENTRIC (Excelling Human-Centric Collaborative Ecosystems for Smart Digital Transition in CCSI) aims to drive the digital transition for sustainable and responsible growth in the European Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI), particularly in live music, festivals, theatre, and museums.
With Erasmus University Rotterdam leading the project and a budget of almost 3,5 million euro, over the next three years we will develop Collaborative Data Practices through six pilot programmes across Europe, empowering organisations to leverage data-driven innovations in programming, pricing, and audience engagement. EFA will focus on FestivalFinder.eu, the search engine for festivals in Europe and beyond for audiences worldwide. By fostering a human-centric approach and supporting digital tool adoption, EXCENTRIC seeks to break down silos and enable ecosystem-wide innovation across the CCSI.
Stay tuned as we embark on this journey alongside Erasmus University Rotterdam, Ars Electronica, Waag Futurelab, MUSEUM BOOSTER, KEA European Affairs, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Računalniški muzej / Computer History Museum Slovenia, Oulu2026 - European Capital of Culture 2026, CTL Cultural Trend Lisbon, Stadt Dortmund, European Festivals Association, Live DMA, and Europeana.
