The Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival was established in 1997 in the city of Plovdiv by the famous Bulgarian actors Stefan Danailov and Sotir Mainolovski.
The festival was conceived as an annual event and takes place in September. Its programme includes more than 25 theatrical performances, as well as a number of accompanying events – book presentations, creative meetings, exhibitions, round table, theatre workshops, reading New Bulgarian dramaturgy, etc.
The Crossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival occupies its worthy place in the rich cultural calendar of the city of Plovdiv and is an emblematic event in the theatrical life in the country. The festival ranks among the most significant cultural events in Bulgaria and carries a special place in the hearts of Plovdiv residents providing the city with a feeling of a theatrical celebration.
