Prague German Language Theatre Festival

Over the course of its 30-year history, the Prague German Language Theatre Festival has established itself as a respected international showcase for theatre performances and dramatic projects from all German-speaking countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg. The festival collaborates with the most renowned theatre companies and emphasises the highest artistic value and innovative trends. It is considered the most progressive theatre event in the Czechia. The festival includes an award for the best Czech production of a German text, an Open Call project for graduates of foreign art academies, accompanying events, exhibitions, lectures, discussions, workshops, and more.

The festival takes place every autumn in various theatres and other venues in Prague for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. It is regularly held under the auspices of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Culture, and the Mayor of Prague.
