The Emilia Romagna Festival ETS Association (ERF) is an important cultural promotion organisation throughout the Emilia Romagna region. It is the largest festival in Italy, the only one that coordinates such a large number of provinces and municipalities.
In 2025, it will celebrate its 25th anniversary, marking a rich and multifaceted journey that continues with the awareness of having contributed to the improvement of the cultural and educational life of the region, and given opportunities for many young people.
Started as a summer festival, it has evolved into a year-round concert season. The festival has become a virtuous system that ranges from well-known and less well-known villages in Emilia-Romagna to the regional capitals, promoting a territorial rebalancing of high-level artistic offerings. It provides a cultural service aimed at all generations, with a focus on audiences with fewer opportunities, offering concerts, musical theatre, dance, side events, guided tours and concert-meetings for schools.
Over the years, ERF has presented programmes with vast repertoires, from large-scale productions to premieres, collaborating with the leading composers of our time, such as Philip Glass, Luis Bacalov, Michael Nyman, Ennio Morricone, Krzystof Penderecki, Sofija Gubajdulina, Richard Galliano, Giovanni Sollima, Rachel Portman, Nicola Piovani and Gabriel Prokofiev.
