Martí Sancliment
Martí Sancliment i Solé is a distinguished cultural manager and dramaturg with a wellestablished career in leading artistic, social, and educational projects. He currently serves as the General Director of the Jordi Savall Festival, one of the most internationally renowned musical initiatives. For over 10 years, Martí Sancliment has closely collaborated with Jordi Savall on several impactful projects, such as Orpheus 21 and El Somni d’Orfeu, which combine artistic excellence with a strong social and educational dimension.
Martí Sancliment holds a degree in Art History and Musicology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Humboldt University of Berlin. He has also pursued studies in dramaturgy at ESAD Eòlia and the Sala Beckett, as well as musical studies at the Modern Music School of Badalona and the Conservatoire of Toulouse.
In addition to his role at the Jordi Savall Festival, Martí Sancliment is the Curator of the Day of the Mediterranean in Barcelona, a project promoted by the Barcelona City Council, the Union for the Mediterranean, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the European Institute of the Mediterranean.
As an artistic director, Martí Sancliment co-directs the Festival Floral alongside the acclaimed singer Judit Neddermann. The festival has become a leading cultural event with a strong focus on gender perspective. He is also the founder and director of Neandertal Records, a cultural association dedicated to creating projects with significant social impact. One of its standout initiatives is the Projecte Sinèrgic, which brings music to hospitalized individuals through concerts and music therapy—a project that was recently a finalist for the prestigious Lluís Carulla Awards.
Martí Sancliment’s work in the performing arts highlights his creative versatility, with projects such as Suburbis(Theaterforum Kreuzberg, Berlin, 2011), Contra les mentides del món rural (Poesia i +, 2024), and the artistic installation Khaled: Path of Refuge (Loop Festival, Barcelona, 2022), which earned the Filadora Award.
With his experience, leadership, and commitment to cultural innovation and social transformation, Martí Sancliment has become a key figure in the European cultural and artistic landscape in Catalonia.
