Marta Wudarska
Head of the Communication Department at the Wilam Horzyca Theatre in Toruń (Poland) and Spokesperson of the KONTAKT International Theatre Festival. I have been active in the cultural scene of Toruń for 15 years. Previously, I worked at the Dom Muz cultural center and as a journalist for Gazeta Pomorska.
I initiated the organization of Equality Marches in Toruń and have been involved in activist organizations for women’s and LGBT+ rights.
I am a graduate of Polish Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, specializing in literary criticism, where I subsequently defended my doctoral dissertation at the Department of Literary Anthropology. I have also completed postgraduate studies in Cultural Marketing at the University of Warsaw.
Recipient of a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Winner of the Kulturalny Krawat (Cultural Tie) award in the Cultural Animator category.
I have carried out projects funded by the Active Citizens Fund, Norway Grants, Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the National Centre for Culture, the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and the city of Toruń.
I have authored over 20 publications in academic monographs and journals and have presented at more than a dozen conferences. I have hosted over 60 author meetings with writers, including Yurii Andrukhovych, Joanna Bator, Marcin Wicha, Jacek Dehnel, Sylwia Chutnik, Robert Małecki, and Jacek Hugo-Bader.
I love visiting exhibitions of European painting, watching films at festivals, and reading contemporary Polish prose. I’m also a houseplant enthusiast and a devoted fan of my three-legged cat, Poldek.
