Jorge Losana

Jorge Losana is a singer, conductor, educator, and cultural entrepreneur. Born in Murcia, he moved to Barcelona in 2016, where he founded the international vocal ensemble Cantoría, specializing in Iberian Renaissance music. With Cantoría, he has performed extensively across Europe and the Americas and released the album Ensaladas, which received distinctions such as the Diapason Découverte and the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. The ensemble was also named “Best of the Year” in classical music by El País (Babelia, December 2024) and was awarded the Premio El Ojo Crítico by Radio Nacional de España in 2025. Cantoría regularly collaborates with Spanish embassies worldwide to promote Iberian early music and develops innovative formats to reach new audiences.
In 2025, he was awarded the Leonardo Grant from the BBVA Foundation for the recording of a new CD dedicated to Spanish early Baroque villancicos at the National Forum of Music of Poland.
He is also the director of the ECOS Festival Internacional de Música Antigua de Sierra Espuña, a project committed to sustainability, cultural decentralization, and addressing demographic challenges in rural areas, bringing high-level artistic activity to small municipalities in the Region of Murcia. In parallel, he directs the Baroque Orchestra and the Historical Music Workshop at the University of Murcia.
Losana is regularly invited to international platforms such as Early Music America, S-EEEmerging, or the International Young Artist’s Presentation in Antwerp, and actively contributes to discussions on music, youth, and sustainability. Trained in Murcia, Barcelona (ESMUC), and Basel (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis), his work has been featured by media such as BBC, France Musique, and Deutschlandfunk, and includes international broadcast projects with the European Broadcasting Union.
