Joost Fonteyne
Joost Fonteyne (°1964) built extensive expertise within various cultural organisations, including arts center Limelight, Happy New Ears, arts center Buda, and the Flanders Festival Kortrijk. As co-founder and first director of the cross-genre organisation Wilde Westen, he contributed to building a strong concert and festival organisation in Kortrijk. Over the years he developed a solid international network. At the heart of his work lies the realisation of innovative projects in sound art, classical, and contemporary music, in close collaboration with partners and stakeholders. Since 2019, he is the director of Klarafestival in Brussels, Belgium’s largest classical broadcasting festival. With his forward-looking vision, he brings classical music vividly to life for an annual audience of 18.000 visitors and 250.000 radio listeners.
