Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres Annual Conference 2025
The City of Science Daejeon, at the heart of South Korea, will host the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC) Annual Conference 2025, exploring the cooperation between art and science and the role of the performing arts in fostering international cohesion.
In the past years, Asia has been growing as an international artistic hub, attracting art and culture professionals from all over the world, creating new art market networks and partnerships.
EFA is part of this developing matrix. In particular, EFA is involved in two major networks: China Shanghai International Arts Festival and Performing Arts Fair /ChinaSPAF - celebrating 20-year of collaboration in 2025 - and its new affiliate member the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC).
AAPPAC is one of the biggest networks of arts centres and organisations on the Asian and Pacific continents. At the heart of the Region’s major developments in the performing arts industry, it is an information network for arts centres fostering the development of technical, administrative and management skills and expertise within the region.
The 2025 AAPPAC Conference will be held in Daejeon from 21 to 23 October, at the Daejeon Arts Centre (DJAC). The main theme of this year’s conference is From Local Inspiration to Global Influence, highlighting Korea’s performing arts scene, theatres, and K-Culture's impact and contributions to the broader international scene. The program offers three full days of keynote presentations, workshops, shows panel discussions, breakout sessions - and visits to other cultural institutions within Daejeon and Seoul - in which participants will discuss pressing issues in the performing arts, including fresh perspectives on interdisciplinary cooperation between art and science, and the role of performing arts in fostering global cohesion.
