Donika Rudi Berishaj

Donika Rudi is a composer and curator, specialised in acousmatic and electroacoustic music, born in
Kosovo and based in Brussels. Her work ranges from compositions for film, dance, and theatre to
multimedia installations and performances. Donika directs the ReMusica Festival - International
Contemporary Music Festival in Kosovo, overseeing its artistic vision, planning, and full programme since 2010.
Since 2022, she directs EFFEA - The European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists at the European
Festivals Association (EFA), a funding initiative dedicated to supporting emerging artists through festivals across Europe. In 2025, she served as a guest curator at Wonderfeel Festival in the Netherlands.
She is the founder of ReMusica Festival’s vocal ensemble - ReVocal Ensemble and is actively engaged in
numerous international juries. As an artist, she is a member and board member of FEBEME - BEFEM
(Belgian Federation for Electroacoustic Music) and a member of the Canadian Electroacoustic
Community (CEC). Her works have been presented widely across Europe and internationally in festivals
and venues such as: Flagey (Brussels), Oortreders Festival, Festival “En tiempo real” in Colombia, Le
Festival Viva Cité à Sotteville-lès-Roue (France), Pergine Festival (Italy), Theatre Op de Markt (Belgium),
BASE Milano (Italy), Deep Wireless (Canada), Viva Musica (Portugal) to name just a few.
In recent years, her work has increasingly engaged with themes of climate change, inclusion, and
diversity. As an Associate Artist within IN SITU - the European platform for artistic creation in public
space (2020 - 2024), she has developed projects exploring and integrating these topics into her work.
She holds a MA in composition from the Conservatoire Royal de Mons in Belgium, where she studied
with Annette Vande Gorne, following earlier studies at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève in
Switzerland with Michael Jarrell and Luis Naón.
