Monday, 18 May - The Music Focus 

Daniela Tomaz is a Musician and Cultural Entrepreneur, aiming at intercultural dialogue, intangible heritage and international cooperation as the main drive for action.

Founding member of O Corvo e a Raposa (2017), a cultural non-for-profit based in southwest Portugal, Algarve region, she is Artistic and Executive Director of Encontros Med [mediterranean/medieval] in Idanha-a-Nova, Costa Vicentina Early Music Fest in Vila do Bispo and DPP | Portimão Percussion Days (together with Vasco Ramalho), and also director and flutist of the early music projects Ensemble Med and Na Rota do Peregrino, having performed in Portugal, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Georgia, Türkiye, Mexico and Brazil, currently preparing a new project to premiere in Chile, Frutillar and Santiago. With these music projects, she participated both as Festival Leader & Partner and Emerging Artist for Generation 1, 2 and 4 of the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists – EFFEA, an initiative of the European Festivals Association (EFA), co-funded by the European Union. 

She is cultural consultant at the Strategic Planning Department of the Municipality of Famalicão (Portugal) since 2018, responsible for several funding grant projects, e.g. codesigning and implementing the participatory artistic practices project “Há Cultura”, through the European Social Fund (2020-2027) and coordinated the funding grant application for its municipal theatre, within the scope of the Portuguese Network of  (RTCP), since 2022 (ongoing). She has also wrote funding grants arts projects for the private sector, e.g Academia de Música de Lagos, Ginasiano Escola de Dança and Kale Companhia de Dança, etc.

Daniela holds a MA degree in Architecture from the University of Porto and is Bachelor of Early Music at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, the Netherlands (2012).
