In its almost five decades of existence, Flanders Festival has established itself as one of the most prominent cultural events.
Klarafestival
Klarafestival is an adventurous music festival.
Klarafestival is a Brussels based, adventurous music festival. It takes place every year in March over a fortnight with concerts at BOZAR, Flagey, deSingel Antwerp and Concertgebouw Brugge. Klarafestival is a broadcasting festival. All concerts are recorded and transmitted live by radio channel Klara and via the European Broadcasting Festival, which broadcasts to many countries around the world. Klarafestival reaches 20,000 visitors in the concert hall and 14 million radio listeners.
Flanders Festival Ghent
As every year, the Flanders Festival Ghent will once again be taking over Ghent city centre.
Flanders Festival Ghent is an international music festival hosted in the vibrant cultural city of Ghent and the greater region of East Flanders. Ghent Festival focusses on high-quality Classical Music in its purest form, but also stretches the boundaries with a variety of creative formats. For instance, ‘OdeGand’ annually launches the Ghent Festival, which has since its conception grown into a breath-taking and adventurous city festival. For three weeks in September/October, Ghent Festival attracts more than 50.000 visitors with its daring programme of Classical Music, as well as World Music and Jazz. Young up-and-coming talent and world-famous artists share their passion and virtuosity with melomaniacs, as well as fledgling music explorers. There are no less than 180 concerts on the programme, with more than 1,500 (inter)national artists taking part!
STROOM
STROOM is a festival with a heart for sustainability, taking place each year at the beginning of the summer season in the beautiful Scheldt valley between Ghent and Antwerp
STROOM is a festival with a heart for sustainability, taking place each year at the beginning of the summer season in the beautiful Scheldt valley between Ghent and Antwerp. As the only festival in the officially recognised Scheldt Valley National Park, STROOM puts together an adventurous programme, in which the river, nature and the sustainability theme take on a prominent role. The festival takes you to picturesque villages and magnificent castles, connected by beautiful walking and cycling paths. Great concerts are interspersed with discourses and hikes. Moreover, a climate-neutral boat, De Vrijbuiter, docks at a different spot multiple times during the festival for concert at the shore. The timing of the concerts is determined by the tides: the connection to the river couldn’t be any stronger! The beautiful Scheldt Valley is the ideal biotope for a festival that organically connects culture and climate, heritage and sustainability, in which the voice of all contributing artists play a pivotal role.
