Müpa Budapest is one of Hungary's best-known cultural brands and one of its most modern cultural institutions. It brings together the many and varied disciplines of the arts in a unique fashion by providing a home for classical, contemporary, world music, jazz, opera, as well as contemporary circus, dance, literature and film.
Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks
Launched in the spring of 2021, on the 140th anniversary of the birth of Béla Bartók, the world-famous Hungarian composer, the Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks is a unique event series dedicated to the arts. While offering insights into his fascinating œuvre, the festival does not restrict itself to the work of the composer, and seeks instead to represent Bartók’s spirit, creativity and outlook in countless genres, from contemporary classical music through world music, jazz and dance to visual art and pop music – the creations of the best international and Hungarian artists.
The event series seeks, in cooperation with Hungarian and European partner institutions, to make Hungary an even more attractive destination for cultural tourism in the coming years.
Liszt Fest International Cultural Festival
Launched on the 210th anniversary of Ferenc Liszt’s birth, the Liszt Fest International Cultural Festival presents leading artists and the latest productions of the Hungarian and international scenes. Liszt’s work is marked by superb quality, a diversity of genres and richness of forms, and these values are also essential for the Liszt Fest. Müpa Budapest’s event series of the arts offers large-scale concerts, classical and contemporary chamber music productions, pop and jazz concerts, dance shows, and literary and visual art events, in Budapest’s principal spaces of the performing and the visual arts, and at countless locations in the city.
